Ombudsman and Information Commissioner Emily O’Reilly has today (04 July 2013) been elected as European Ombudsman. In Strasbourg this morning a majority of the European Parliament voted for Emily O’Reilly to succeed Nikiforos Diamandouros as European Ombudsman.

The Information Commissioner and Commissioner for Environmental Information, Emily O'Reilly, today Tuesday 14 May 2013, launched her Annual Report for 2012, the fifteenth since the founding of the Office in 1998.

Emily O'Reilly, Commissioner for Environmental Information, said that she was pleased that the High Court had upheld her decision that NAMA is a public authority for the purpose of the AIE Regulations.

Information Commissioner and Commissioner for Environmental Information, Emily O'Reilly, today (Wednesday 30 May 2012) published her Annual Report for 2011, the fourteenth since the founding of the Office in 1998.

The Information Commissioner, today (Wed 4 May 2011) published her Annual Report for 2010, the thirteenth Report since the founding of the Office in 1998. At the launch of her Report the Information Commissioner strongly welcomed the commitment of the Government in its new Programme to "restore the Freedom of Information Act" and to "extend its remit to other public bodies including the administrative side of An Garda Síochána, subject to security exceptions".
