Appeal Fees
The AIE Regulations provide that the Commissioner must charge an appeal fee and that she cannot accept an appeal unless the appropriate fee is paid.
The standard appeal fee is €150.
A reduced appeal fee of €50 applies if you are
- a medical card holder,
- the dependent of a medical card holder, or
- a third party who is appealing the decision of a public authority to release information.
The Commissioner does not have any discretion in relation to appeal fees.
Payment of Appeal Fees
Fees may be paid as follows:
- by Cheque / Bank Draft / Postal Order, crossed and made payable to the Office of the Information Commissioner
- in Cash (in person at the Office between 9.15 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 9.15 a.m. and 5.15 p.m. Friday). Cash should not be sent by post.
